Walking Robots - A weekly update
So, I’ve been thinking about walking robots lately. I like ‘em. I like ‘em a lot. But before I continue with that, I’d like to direct any sysadmins that may be reading to this:The Case of the 500-mile Email
Definitely good for a chuckle.
Anyhoo(even MicroHoo?), on with the robots!
Here are a few videos of a few robots that I’m especially fond of.
This one is the best spider-bot movement I’ve ever seen, so I guess I’ll have to forgive the guy for using Microsoft products for the IK. Lots more detail at this post at the Trossen Robotics forum
Here’s a longer one with more routines:
Next up we have Boston Dynamic’s BigDog. They claim it’s ‘The Most Advanced Quadruped Robot on Earth’, and I think I’ll have to agree. This thing is pretty spiffy.
Here’s an old favorite of mine, from before the MIT LegLab apparently stopped doing neat things, the 3D Biped.
And who could forget the robot wrestlers?
That’s all for now, folks. Got any neat robot links? Leave a comment!
